Despite the
threat of rain throughout one of the most inclement Memorial Day Weekends
in memory, over 200 theater lovers braved the elements to enjoy
performances of "As You Like It" presented by Shakespeare in the
Parque's Neighborhood Arts Initiative. "As You Like It" is
the third free full-length presentation by this community-minded theater
troupe.
Shakespeare in the Parque was
founded by Susan Schulman and Megan Owens to bring classical theater to
underserved audiences. The
group's first production was A Midsummer Night's Dream, presented
on the lawn at Ft. Ward Park, and performed in both English and
Spanish. June 5, 2003
